Bio
In addition to studying both the fields of psychology and social work, Maureen Egan Walsh has ongoing study of the spiritual influence on the psychological. Most recently, she completed a 2 year program under the direction of Dr. Karyne Wilner in Core Energetics - which focuses on the incorporation of the body and spirit into the work of therapy - believing it is this combination that helps in release, expansion and thus growth. Maureen's ideal client is a human being courageous enough to seek the help of a psychotherapist. She sees her role as assisting the individual in uncovering their strengths, as well as developing strategies for overcoming the distortions with which they present. Maureen's specialty is working with folks in a way that helps them to truly love and forgive themselves and others, freeing them to be happy in the world. She works closely with her clients in examining their old beliefs in order for them to develop newer, healthier perspectives of themselves, others and the world.
Maureen has been in private practice since 1999. Maureen has training as a life coach and offers coaching services to clients across the country. As she joins the collaborative, Maureen's intention is to create offerings that will further assist clients beyond just the individual therapy. This will include offering groups, workshops, written and symbolic tools that are of service to the Therapy Collaborative Community and the greater good.
